Dave Collins

Dave Collins is a graduate of the University of Durham with a First Class Honours degree in Music. At the university he studied composition with Dr. Richard Rijnvos, arranging and conducting with Ray Farr and orchestration with Dr. Bennet Zon. Dave began playing the trumpet at aged 9 through lessons at his local primary school led by Rochdale Music Service. His teachers have included Eric Landon, Ian Nelson, Ian Porthouse and Stuart Lingard. Dave played regularly through school and Sixth Form and attended Rochdale Music Service until September 2010. Dave composes a wide variety of music for Brass Band through his position as Composer-In-Residence of The Fishburn Band (NE Championship Section) with Musical Director Mr. Huw Thomas. He is also the Composer-in-Association with the City of Cardiff Band (Welsh Championship Section) with Musical Director Gareth Ritter.
