Brian Bowen is an iconic brass band composer. He burst on to the compositional scene in the 60s with his seminal work My Comfort and Strength and his music has been performed and recorded by leading ensembles throughout the world ever since. For many years, he was the flugel horn soloist of the International Staff Band and, subsequently, became conductor of the New York Staff Band. He is a senior editor for a leading European classical music publisher and has played a leading role in publishing the music of major composers including Sir Michael Tippett. A native of the United Kingdom, Brian now lives in the state of Florida in the United States.
